Solana Surgical won 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its CrossCheck plating system, designed for use in ankle and foot procedures.
The CrossCheck systems are manufactured with a Type II anodization to enhance the fatigue strength, improving stabilization. The devices feature specially designed ridges to improve grip. The CrossCheck system comes in a variety of sizes and configurations for specific surgical needs, according to a press release.
The Memphis, Tenn.-based medical device company expects the device to hit shelves in the 1st quarter of 2014.
