Grant is a currently a sophomore majoring in Biochemistry at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He currently serves as the Chapter President of the Colorado Evans scholarship house in Boulder and has grown up with interests in golf, skiing and medicine. Grant also holds a private pilot license and has been passionate about aviation since the age of thirteen. After his undergraduate studies Grant would like to continue to either medical or pharmaceutical school.

Josh currently attends the University of Colorado at Boulder and is studying Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. After completion of his undergraduate studies, he intends on obtaining an M.D. or Ph.D., from which he will start pursuing cures for the world’s most dangerous diseases. In his free time, he enjoys doing anything outdoors including skiing, hiking, and running triathlons.

Trent is a 23 year old graduate of Metropolitan State University of Denver. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology with a Chemistry minor. He currently tutors Biology at the college level and previously tutored high school Chemistry. He is also a certified Emergency Medical Technician-Basic and his current goal is to be admitted to a Physician Assistant Program. Education is a very important part of Trent’s life and he believes everyone who is willing to learn should have the opportunity to do so. Trent is an avid traveler who is always ready for an adventure. He enjoys people and is excited for the next step of his life. His favorite hobbies are playing sports with friends, watching superhero movies, and spending time with his family.

Christina Henderson is a freshman at The University of Colorado at Boulder majoring in Molecular Biology. She has a younger sister and brother and loves anything outdoors like hiking, riding four wheelers, and boating. She joined Med Advance to expand her opportunities while making some great connections with peers. She particularly likes Oncology and plans to apply to medical school in a few years.

Alex is in the process of earning his bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration at the University of Colorado at Boulder; he is also on the path to medical school to pursue a career in healthcare. Alex is currently interested in the field of podiatry and hopes to someday own is own foot and ankle orthopedic practice. Whether hard at work in the classroom or enjoying his favorite outdoor activities, Alex will not be found without his signature “Croakies” hung snugly around his neck. When not studying, one will find Alex sunbathing at the pool or perfecting his butterfly stroke in Chatfield reservoir.

Korben Knudson is a recent graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical and biological engineering. He currently works as a medical assistant at Associates of Otolaryngology in Lone Tree, CO. Korben’s passion for pursuing a career in medicine is derived from his love for science and working with people. He is highly interested in research and was recently published in the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences. When he is not studying for his MCATs, Korben enjoys brewing beer, playing billiards and spending time with family and friends. Korben will apply for medical school in the summer of 2014.

Eddie is a native Coloradan, and currently a sophomore at the University of Colorado studying Integrative Physiology. Eddie is an avid sports fan, and in his free time he enjoys skiing, playing recreational sports, making rap videos, and having fun with his friends and family. He loves working with others, and he aspires to go to either medical or physical therapy school.

Raleigh Ems is a senior at the University of Colorado Boulder where he studies Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. He finds the science of the human body and the pathology of disease very fascinating. In his free time, Raleigh enjoys spending time with friends and exercising.

Shannon is currently a sophomore at the University of Colorado at Boulder where she is studying Biochemistry in hopes of one day pursuing her dreams of becoming a urologist. Shannon has felt a calling toward the field of medicine ever since she was a little girl and is very excited to fulfill her dreams. When not tending to her collection of cats, Shannon can be found practicing her line dancing skills or competing in her bi-weekly frisbee golf “toss-off’s” – she even won the title of 2012 State Champion! Shannon is very excited to be a SERF intern and see where this journey takes her.

Nika is an enthusiastic, dynamic, and ambitious senior at the University of Denver. She is graduating in March 2014 with 2 Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Psychology, and a Minor in Chemistry. She is applying to Physician Assistant school in the spring, with hopes of becoming a PA in surgery or pediatrics. Along with her involvement with MedAdvance, she volunteers, coaches a high school varsity dance team, and conducts research.
